Starting on November 15,2009 was the Medicare Advantage Enrollment period. Medicare Advantage plans are health plan options that are approved by Medicare , but ran by private insurance companies. They are part of the medicare program sometimes called "Part C'. When a beneficiary elects one of these plans they still receive medicare coverage; however the beneficiary usually has to receive services and treatments from a specific network. The private insurance company is paid the premium and services the beneficiary. During the enrollment period individuals can elect to enroll or disenroll from the plans. For questions call Medicare.
